Watch a short video to see how the Mission Store is “Community in Action”

The Mission Store is more than just a thrift store. As a branch of Mission Services of London, we offer two unique community support programs:

EMERGENCY VOUCHER PROGRAM

This unique program provides individuals and families in need with clothing and basic household items at no cost to them. The program originated in 1964 as “The Clothing Centre” as a way of obtaining and distributing clothing, free to those in need. The program is now hosted directly inside the Mission Store with the desire to provide program recipients a shopping experience full of variety and choice to fulfill their needs.

Approximately $160,000 of goods each year are provided at no charge through the Emergency Voucher Program.

WARM HANDS – WARM HEARTS

Since 1995, the Warm Hands — Warm Hearts Outreach Program has provided many children with warmth within London and the surrounding community. The Mission Store collects and distributes new and gently used mittens, gloves, hats, and socks for area schools from November through February.

The program reaches elementary schools within the Thames Valley District School Board, London District Catholic School Board, and Standing Stone School in Oneida Nation of the Thames, and Antler River School in Chippewas of the Thames First Nation.
